Photo Update - Snow and Skies

Ali got really excited about the first snow fall. - In Jefferson City for Date Night

First snow fall here in Columbia! So beautiful.

I'm biased, but snow makes the house looks pretty dang nice. :)

Ten new members introduced at Karis Church this past Sunday. Pumped to have more brothers and sisters on mission together.

Outside a MU Library window.

3rd floor view of MU parking garage.
Check out the last couple of posts if you would like to see what kind of things I have been mulling over during my time as an intern. God has been very faithful to grow me during this time.

God is good and gracious.

New Year's Eve: Magic, Babies, and Snow

This New Year's Eve Ali and I spent time with our friends and their babies. Here are a few pictures of that night and a picture from last night's snow covering our car!

New posts are coming soon, but here are a few pictures to keep everybody up to date what we are up to.

Derek (left) and TJ (right) play Magic together at the New Year's Eve party. I have never played, but I watched for a little bit. The coffee cup in the picture is what I added to all of this.

Zoe Zimmermann poses for a picture at the New Year's Eve party. She was having a
rough night, even though this picture does not tell that story.

Naomi Zimmermann poses for a picture at the New Year's Eve party. She is always so calm.

Last night it began to snow in Columbia. This snowfall was only the beginning of the snowfall because we woke up to an additional two inches.
Again, posts are coming soon! I am excited about writing again for all to read.

Have a great day!

God is good and gracious.

The Pure Weight of Snow

The Pure Weight of Snow
Jacob Luis Gonzales

Softly resting on the branch
is the snow of winter
painting the landscape
glimmering, shining, reflecting light

The weight slowly presses
and the beautiful snow hurts
the branches can’t press back
so they bend, painfully and dramatically

The purity shines and blinds all
those who look at its reflection
yet the sting is desired and pursued
because the light is alluring

The covering of snow allows
little, bare, and dark shapes behind
with no care for its resting place
and its place cracks with no restraint

The gravity pulls so steadily
and no one can push back enough
no one can stop its pressure
with no way of reaching to give rest

Heavily the snow sits and lays still
with no mending options to make and create
yet we all watch the pure and heavy covering

while the branch cracks, snaps, and is destroyed.
