Hello,
In case you haven't heard.... Ali is pregnant! We found out on my birthday (Feb 18th), but wanted to make sure we told our families and then made sure we had our first doctor's appointment before we posted anything online.
God is good, gracious, and faithful.
Check him or her out!
A 24 year old man from Chicago who had been made alive to proclaim what it looks like to truly live.

Dear White People - Review Coming Soon
Hello,
It has been a while since I have written much of anything on the website due to the transition in work schedule, but I plan on writing very soon. I hope to be writing a review on the movie "Dear White People."
I have been looking forward to seeing this movie for some time now. At first my motives were of to reinforce my anger and resentment, but now I believe that my intentions are to learn and loving discuss major issues brought up by the movie. I hope that I will reflect on the movie with a righteous perspective that is used to build up my readers. I sincerely look forward to seeing what comes out from my writing.
Look for this post to come out Tuesday November 4, 2014 at 10am.
Make sure you comment on the post and let me know what you think.
Thanks!
God is good and gracious.

Douglass Park Neighborhood Association
It has been a long time since I last wrote something on here, so look for that REALLY soon... :)
For now, check out the website for the Douglass Park Neighborhood Association. I am the Secretary of the Association, and we just had our first meeting since May last night. It was a great opporunity to meet others who deeply care for the well-being of our neighborhood.
Please pray for continued opportunities to get to know others.
Please pray for dedication and steadfastness in my role as Secretary and Ali's role as Treasurer.
Please pray for courage to share the gospel in a loving and challenging way.
God is good and gracious.

845 Days of Marriage
Our marriage is not always easy, but our marriage is making me a better man of God. Our marriage is messy, but God is making two sinners more and more like His perfect and sinless Son, Jesus.
We've been married for 845 days (2 years, 3 months, and 23 days). I am excited about the next 845 days of marriage to my best friend in the entire world!
Love you babe.

Saturday Prayer Request: Kenneth Ralph Shelter
Today I would like you all to pray for the Kenneth Ralph Shelter at Douglass Park. There has been a lot of talk about a possible alcohol ban in Douglass Park because of the drinking involved under this shelter, but no matter what happens we seek to love, serve, and pray for those who hang out here. Not everyone here is dangerous, an alcoholic, or up to no good! But, there are those who are struggling with addiction that I need you to pray for.
Jacob Luis Gonzales
- Pray for the people struggling with addiction and the lifestyle associated with addiction. Being someone who struggled with this in my past, I know the struggle so please pray for the gospel of Jesus to release the enslavement of addiction.
- Pray for the children who have parents, grandparents, and relatives that I have seen here. Pray that they might experience the love of Christ.
- Pray for the very passionate voices who are debating the alochol ban in Douglass Park. Both sides have expressed hostility in some sense, so please pray for the love of Christ to saturate their lives and their speech as they discuss this issue.
- Pray for Ali and I as we seek to know the people that hang out here so we can love, serve, and pray for them. We need your prayers to make these connections!

Two Texts To Ponder
| There is a new Bible study on Mizzou's campus, and I am praying that God uses it to touch the lives of many people. The text this week was Matthew 1:1-17. Great time. |
| This quote is from When I Don't Desire God by John Piper. Joy itself is a gift from God and for God. That is so insanely powerful and challenging! |
